How did you first come across Neville’s teachings?
The first time Neville was introduced to me was 2018 he showed a suggested video in the youtube algorithim I’m certain it was the video audio lecture entitled REARRANGE THE MIND and it was a striking message to say the least, because this was the first time hearing the idea of repentance in his context.
What was it about his message that spoke to you most deeply?
There’s several messages that profoundly touched me, and over time as I studied and applied them, it grew but the first concept that took me aback was the I AM-ness or consciousness is being is one with GOD, it was manner and tone of which he said it with such certainty that it was like opening the door of a dark room with a bright light shining in for the first time, and I had no idea
Do you remember the first lecture or book that really stayed with you?
Yes, very vividly I remember reading at your command and then out of this world. At your command spoke to me very deeply because I am a Christian (non-denominational) and how Neville explained the words of Jesus and the revelation of Christ’s consciousness being at one with our father in heaven, made Jesus very relatable to me in a way I had not experienced since I was a child
How did you come across this particular collection?
Some what by chance but also by using Neville’s technique. I can remember vividly wondering if one day I might be able to have a book signed by Neville. Literally I would sit in my chair at home and imagine that I would go to an antique store or thrift store and go into the old books section and magically i would find one of his old books, and open the first page and there would be his signature. It was all in good fun and just an experiment. After a while I let it go.
What was it like when you first opened the box and saw the records, books, and pages?
it was exhilarating, and it was energizing because I knew I had something very special and that there was a duty to preserve and protect this piece of history and that somehow I was trusted to do that. My love for Neville and his teaching is sacred. I do realize that not everyone makes a connection with Neville’s teaching, and that it can seem very obscure very abstract and frankly nonsensical to some people so I feel very lucky.
When you read through the typed pages, what struck you about them?
the dates on these documents are from 1952 through 1954, so that is striking to me because of where he what stage of life he was at during this time and his age and that some of the pages are in first person so I am confident that they’re his typed notes because the other pages are obviously typed by his wife Bill because she signed her name on the top right hand corners of the ones that she typed and the last thing I guess would be just having red some of these ideas and explanations already in his published books and then seeing them in a raw form before they were published and just imagining that process it went through is cool to think about.
The titles themselves (Turning the Foot and The Twelfth, An Amethyst) are very interesting. Which one stood out to you most, and why? creation is finished stands out for me because that is one of the mental states which has helped me personally develop my faith as you know Neville discusses faith being an operative word and not merely a passive phenomenon but an active one which he explains in other ways such as doubt being the only sin which we can commit not believing in ourselves and in the process, etc. again, creation is finished is extremely potent if one can seriously apply this idea that whatever your wish or desire or calling or purpose holding true to the fact that it’s already done and all we need to do is patiently wait for reality to catch up to our wish fulfilled.
Do you think these papers were part of lectures, or maybe drafts for a book that never got published?
Yes, I’m certain that part of these papers are lectures he gave and also chapters or manuscripts to some of the books that he published.
At one point you met Neville’s daughter, Victoria, to show her the papers. Tell us about that experience.
OK I’m happy to do that. It’s kind of a long story. I guess I’ll try to be succinct about it. I after I was in possession of the papers. I wanted to see if his daughter was still alive and possibly share them with her in case she wanted to read them as well. I wasn’t sure if she knew existed or if anyone knew they existed so I began researching online for Victoria Goddard and on Facebook and google of course and I found a couple of Victoria Goddards that were living that were in California and one in Hollywood that seem to be around the right age of Neville’s daughter, so I found an address online and looked it up on Google maps and a little backstory about me some people have lucky numbers and my lucky number has always been 122 and the reason for that is my birthday is January 22 and anytime I see 122. I just always got the feeling or the message that or sense that I’m on the right path I’m safe all is well and so when I found the address on Google maps and I could see the picture of the house. I wasn’t sure if it was obviously where Neville where Neville’s daughter lived, but interestingly, the numbers of the address were painted on the curb and the address was 1122 but there was a car parked and in front of the numbers and it was covering up the first one so all I saw was 122 and that was my confirmation that I had the right person and so sometime later, I traveled out to Los Angeles with the papers and ask Victoria if I knocked on the door of this house and the door opened and sure enough the elderly woman standing in front of me looks just like Neville and I asked her are you Neville’s daughter and she said yes I said I introduced myself and said well I’m sorry to bother you. It’s just I have come possession of some very old papers and I’d like to know if you would like to read them because I want to preserve them and honestly she did not seem too excited or interested in what I had now granted I was a total stranger knocking on her door so that I’m sure seemed strange, but I had to do it nonetheless so she gave me her email address and later on I did email her and followed up one more time but I did not get a response back so as you know, Victoria did pass away in 2024 but I’m glad I got to experience meeting her and Neville’s one of Neville’s living relatives.
How have you used Neville’s techniques in your own life or what results have you seen?
Yes, and I have small wins and big wins, so which do you want to hear first?
Lets start with small wins.
Ok, I can say with absolute certainty his techniques work if you work it. After a while I let it go. we have to be patient and almost forget the seed we planted. Then a couple months later I randomly got the idea to look on eBay for a signed copy of a Neville book and literally that day someone posted a signed copy of awaken imagination that same day, and I immediately purchased it and needless to say it was a great experience. That was one of the first.
Now perhaps a bigger goal I aimed for later on because you have to start small and I learned that from Neville that this is like a muscle using your imagination and you don’t wanna try to go from 0 to 100 in a Ferrari if you’ve never driven a fast car before right so a couple years later I wanted to manifest a trip around the world and it was all the places I want to visit before I die so on a Sunday afternoon in 2021 I sat down with a stack of magazines and a posterboard and a glue stick and I cut out pictures of these places and it was Thailand. It was Machu Picchu Stonehenge Mount Fuji the pyramids at Egypt, etc. and I had this collage in my apartment for six months and some days I would look at it other days I wouldn’t notice it but one year later I was moving out of that apartment and I put my stuff in storage for six months after that I had a short term lease and I spontaneously decided at that point I was just gonna go to Thailand for a few weeks because my short-term lease was up. I had the cash and I just figured it’s now or never. I’m gonna go see Thailand at least and wouldn’t you know but once I got to Thailand after a month, my intuition told me not to go back to the US just yet so I figured why don’t I go to Vietnam so I went to Vietnam after another month there I decided well why don’t I go to the Philippines so I went and saw the Philippines and then my intuition still kept telling me don’t go back yet so I figured well I’m here. why don’t I go to Rome and see the Colosseum and from Rome then I went to Egypt then Egypt I went to Cambodia then from Cambodia I went to Stonehenge and then back to Vietnam and so overall I spent nine months traveling then I went back to Los Angeles where I had all of my things in storage and that day I got back I pulled out the collage. I had completely forgotten about the collage and I was blown away that moment when I realized that half of the pictures on that vision board I had just gone and visited and none of it was planned. It was all spontaneous just following my intuition listening to it trusting it and I managed to still keep up with all of my responsibilities while I was traveling, and it was absolutely incredible and amazing that I did that, but it wasn’t me as much as it was using my imagination and intuition and trusting the process and the practice I had applying Neville’s teaching.
Do you have any other stories you can share?
I have other testimonials personally revolving around my business in credit, Repair and contracts and banking and finance because that is also an area that I am passionate about because all of man’s laws are derived from spiritual laws and the Bible, so there is a absolute connection there, and because our public school system doesn’t teach people much of anything that is meaningful or purposeful or applicable to our lives, I feel it is my duty to share the responsibility of empowering and educating people whenever I can however I can
Have you ever thought about teaching yourself or public speaking on this topic?
Yes and I have. So in the last few years, I have facilitated a book club of Neville’s work where over zoom all participants will take turns reading Neville’s work like the power of awareness or feeling is the secret and that’s been fun then I have also had a private sessions with people over several months to help them develop the muscle they need to apply the techniques in their life that’s been a lot of fun too.
It began, as many twenty-first-century stories do, with an algorithm. In 2018, a suggested video appeared on James’ YouTube feed. The title was simple: Live in the End. Out of curiosity, he clicked. Within minutes, he found himself listening to a voice unlike any he had heard before. The speaker was Neville Goddard, a mid-century christian mystic whose following had quietly grown over decades.
Neville’s words were striking, not for their poetry, but for their certainty. Repentance, he explained, was not about remorse or ritual but from the Greek word “Metanoia” meaning the deliberate act of changing one’s mind. For James, who had spent years searching for meaning in both faith and personal development seminars, the effect was electric and instantaneous. “It was like opening the door of a dark room and stepping into blinding light,” he recalls.
The light stayed on. James immersed himself in Neville’s work — At Your Command and Out of This World as primary documents. As a Christian, he found himself moved by Neville’s reframing of Jesus, not as a distant figure, up in the clouds, but as consciousness happening right and now within us all. Bible Scripture, once heavy with abstraction, suddenly became personal, urgent, and alive.
But belief, Neville taught, must be tested. James decided to experiment. He imagined vividly, with repetition, what it might be like to hold a signed copy of Neville’s work — “I would sit in my living room and imagine going inside a thrift store,or antique store, there I would be rummaging through old books and there would be a copy of his book, old and dusty. I would open it and abracadabra, his signature would be right there.” He held the image in mind, then let it go after a while. Months later, on a whim, he searched eBay and there it was: a signed copy of Awakened Imagination, listed that very same day. He bought it instantly. The first of many signed books by Neville in James’ collection.
That small win was followed by something larger, almost impossibly so. In 2021, James created a vision board plastered with images of the places he longed to see before he died: Thailand, Machu Picchu, Stonehenge, Mount Fuji, the pyramids of Egypt and others. He hung it on his wall, then forgot about it. A year later, guided by nothing more than intuition, he left for Thailand. What began as a short trip became nine months of spontaneous travel — Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Rome, Egypt, Cambodia, Stonehenge just outside London. By the time he returned home, he realized he had visited half the places on that forgotten board.
If imagination is a muscle, James had just learned how to flex it.
Then came the discovery that turned his private journey into something historic. By a mixture of chance and intention, James came into possession of unpublished notes and papers dating from 1952 to 1954. All were typed in Neville’s own voice, others marked by the hand of his wife, Bill. The pages bore titles as evocative as they were mysterious — Turning the Foot, The Twelfth, An Amethyst(never published).
With the papers in hand, James felt a new responsibility: should Neville’s family know? Determined to find out, he began searching online for Victoria Goddard, Neville’s daughter who many have heard about but who never publicly spoke about her father. After scouring through listings and clues online, he discovered an address in Los Angeles for a Victoria Goddard that seemed to match the age of who would be Neville’s daughter.
Not long after, James traveled there with the manuscripts. The first day he went and knocked on the door no one was home. He went a second time the next day, and still no answer. On the third attempt, the sound of a key unlocked the door and there James was greeted by an elderly woman whose resemblance to Neville was unmistakable.
“Hello, are you Victoria Goddard, Neville’s daughter?” James asked.
“Yes,” she replied.
He introduced himself and explained how he had come into possession of Neville’s old writings, offering to share them in case she had never seen them. Though Victoria remained polite, she seemed reserved — perhaps cautious of a stranger who had arrived unannounced. James asked if they could stay in touch. She gave him her email, though later follow-ups went unanswered.
Still, the encounter was unforgettable. To stand face-to-face with Neville’s daughter, even briefly, was to touch the man and the legacy that had already reshaped his life.
Today, James speaks of Neville with reverence. He knows the teachings can appear obscure, even nonsensical, to the uninitiated. But for those who connect, they offer a radical shift: the realization that “creation is finished.” What we long for already exists; faith and imagination are the bridges that carry us to it. “The Bridge of Incidents” as taught by Neville himself. Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled is another principle or “law” taught by Neville.
In his own work — navigating the worlds of credit, contracts, and trusts— James applies Neville’s work everywhere . Man’s laws, he argues, are derived from spiritual ones. To study one without the other is to miss the larger design. And so, in book clubs, private mentorships, and casual conversations, he shares what he has learned: that faith is not passive but active, that doubt is the only sin, and that imagination, when practiced, is the most powerful tool we possess. James says “You must know, because belief is the enemy of knowing”
James did not set out to become a keeper of Neville Goddard’s legacy. But through study, synchronicity, and a willingness to follow intuition, that is what he has become. In his care are not only pages from the past, but a living demonstration of Neville’s most radical promise — that the mind, rightly arranged, can bend reality itself. For those who feel a spark reading this, James now shares his journey in practical ways: Private one-on-one coaching calls for those ready to apply the teachings, and a book club where seekers come together to study works like The Power of Awareness and Feeling is the Secret. His mission is simple: to preserve Neville’s legacy, to live it out loud, and to pass it on to those ready to take the leap of imagination.
